Play on the Playground
For the kids, Red Cloud Park has a great, new playground structure with several slides and activities. The playground isn’t very tall or intimidating, so it is perfect for toddlers and smaller children!
Enjoy Outdoor Games
Why not get your whole group together for a day playing some casual outdoor games? Red Cloud Park has an area to play horseshoes. Or, for the more athletically inclined, how about a game of basketball or tennis on the respective courts? There’s also a large open area that would be perfect for a game of touch football, tag, or whatever else your group wanted to do. Getting the heart rate pumping while having fun is an excellent way to take advantage of the incredible weather.
Take a Picnic
The shelters and picnic tables offer a great place to relax and eat. Consider taking some of our great local offerings with you, perhaps something from the La Crosse or Viroqua Farmers Markets, or from many of the other restaurants and stores in Westby that sell local fares.
Walk or Run a Trail
One of the trails at Red Cloud Park is called “Born Learning.” It has learning activities and games that kids can play that teaches them about shapes, colors, and more. Red Cloud Park also links to the Rabbit Trail. The Rabbit Trail is great for walking and running and offers some beautiful scenic views. A long footbridge crosses a river at one point as well and is a highlight of the trail.
