The Most Popular Wisconsin Bike Trails
Here are some of our favorite Wisconsin bike trails, all within driving (or biking) distance from the Westby House Inn and Restaurant.
Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail
You can’t go wrong starting in Sparta, the Bicycling Capitol of America! This trail has lots of beautiful scenery and takes you through three old rail tunnels and five quaint small towns. This portion of the trail is 32.5 miles, although it connects to other trails on each end if you’d like to go farther. Remember, the tunnels can be quite cold, so bring a light jacket even if the weather is nice! And a Wisconsin bike pass is required
5 Westby Road Bike Routes
We also have five awesome road routes right here in Westby! Great for road biking, motorcycles, or driving, each has its own culture, charm, and scenery. No fees or bike passes required! All the routes start at the Stabbur Information Center where tour maps are also available. More information, including route details, is available on the Westby Chamber’s website.
- Amish Culture Tour (27.9m)
- Ski Jump Tour (21.6m)
- Kickapoo Valley Tour (40.5m)
- West Fork Tour (16.9 or 36.5m)
- Small Town Charm (42.5m)
These five mountain biking trails, in Vernon and Crawford county, offer 25 miles of exceptional beauty along natural surface singletrack. With varying degrees of difficulty, everyone from beginners to advanced will find something to enjoy.
Vernon Trails also has a three-mile loop of winter fat tire bike trails.
Kickapoo Valley Reserve Trails
The gorgeous Kickapoo Valley Reserve offers trails for road biking, mountain biking, and fat tire biking. Road routes are 25 miles with options to connect to other routes. The 24 miles of mountain bike trails, while not single track, still offer plenty of difficulty. And during the winter, enjoy eight miles of ungroomed fat tire trails. Permits are required to use the trails.
